Understanding Filtration!

What are the EuroGuard filters made of?

Our primary filters use high-quality activated carbon, sourced from natural coconut shells, to reduce chlorine, chemicals, heavy metals, and microplastics. It filters 200+ contaminants including bacteria.
The housing of the cartridges is made from food-grade materials for safety and durability.

What’s inside the filter cartridges?

Each cartridge contains a multi-stage filtration system including:

  • Activated Carbon Block: For removing chlorine, odors, chemicals, and improving taste.

  • Heavy Metal Reduction Media: Targets contaminants like lead, mercury, and arsenic.

  • Optional UF Membrane (for UF models): Ultra-filtration layer for removing bacteria and viruses (coming soon).

All materials are BPA-free and tested according to NSF/ANSI standards.

How often do I need to replace the filters?

Our carbon filters last for up to 20,000 liters of water — about 12 to 24 months for a typical household.

Replacement timing may vary based on your water quality and usage.

Can I use the filter with well water?

Yes. However, for well water, we recommend our upcoming Ultra Filtration (UF) filters for added protection against bacteria and viruses. (Coming soon!)

Can I filter hot water?

No. Please only use cold or room-temperature water with your EuroGuard system. Hot water can damage the filter media.

Are your filters tested for safety and performance?

Yes, EuroGuard filters are tested to meet key U.S. standards, including NSF 42 and NSF 53, ensuring high-quality filtration for contaminants like chlorine, heavy metals, and microplastics.
